During Oracle CPU patch jan-2012, apply on Oracle DB 10.2.0.5, patched failed with errors "OPatch failed with error code = 74"

check opatch version and upgrade to 10.2.0.4 to 10.2.0.5.1

And

Set ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID and PATH for your current ORACLE HOME and re-run.
